Windmills and Children of the Corn

8/20

On Wednesday after a fun pit stop at Grinders and Stretch’s pad, we had a LONG day of driving through Kansas. We made a short stop at a Planet Fitness a few hours in (We joined so we could get a quick workout and most importantly shower in - since it’s the most represented gym chain throughout the country!) Definitely presents a nice option for us in most any state we land!

We ended up just trying to get as many miles as possible under our belts that day so found a RV park right on the edge of Kansas and Colorado in the oh so very creative combo name of … wait for it… Kanarado. Not going to lie though, it reminded me a little too much of Children of the Corn 😳. (Another movie I watched way too young!)

One thing that definitely stood out to us was how many windmill farms there were along the entire drive! I mean they were everywhere!

We arrived to our pre reserved spot (I made it while riding shotgun an hour earlier which seems to becoming a pattern). For some entertainment, we poured some wine and had an air fryer green bean cook-off … I think I actually got Ross to admit I won (and this was after he talked a lot of SMACK too). 🙃 He then made delicious breaded salmon and we enjoyed a great meal next to the cornstalks. All the while I kept trying to think of anything other than Malachi! 🤦‍♀️🤪

The good news is there were showers and clean bathrooms. And so we took advantage of that before hitting the road for CO. I’ve definitely been realizing what a commodity these seemingly normal ”amenities” are! The bougie is literally deteriorating before all of our eyes! 😂
